AttiCat Expanding Blown-In Pink FiberGlas™ Attic Insulation is a loose fill, expanding, blown-in fiberglass insulation. It’s superior to cellulose insulation because it’s noncombustible and noncorrosive by nature. This means that over time it won’t settle or lose its energy-saving abilities. This amazing insulation will not absorb moisture, support fungus or mold growth, rot or decay, or provide sustenance for insects or vermin. In addition, it does not require extra fire retardant chemicals that can corrode pipes or wires.
It works on the principle of trapped air pockets. During the installation process, the material is broken up and “fluffed” adding millions of tiny air pockets giving it greater insulation power. Tiny air pockets trapped in the insulation resist the passage of heat flow—heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. Generally, the thicker the insulation, the more air pockets and the greater the insulating power.
AttiCat Insulation is made up of 40% recycled glass, and is also ENERGY STAR and GREENGUARD certified.
